Practice Manager

Kari

Kari is our Practice Manager. She does it all! She answers the phones, she helps clients schedule appointments, get checked in, get checked out, she does all of the ordering, she coordinates the daily flow, she jumps in when our nurses need help, she keeps the doctors on task...she runs the show! She studied Business Managment at Fresno City College and then at Cal State Sonoma. She recently sat for the board and received her RVT license (registered veterinary technician). She has over 14 years of experience in veterinary medicine and her interests include emergency/critical care and pain management. Kari has 4 cats and a senior dog named Winnie. Kari is getting married next year so in her free time, she's planning a wedding, remodeling her house and working in the garden.

Front Office

Heather

Heather is our front office manager/lead receptionist. She answers phones, gets clients checked in and into exam rooms, helps fill prescriptions, answers general questions, schedules appointments, ensures smooth communications between our doctors and clients, she makes sure that our clients understand the services their pets receive and she strives to make the entire veterinary visit as pleasant as possible. Heather takes pride in working in a hospital that provides high quality medical care and excellent customer service. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Santa Rosa Junior College. Heather is also a freelance make up artist with over 10 years of experience working for various photographers in fashion and film. She and her wife, Jen, enjoy hiking and camping and walking their two dogs, Dita and Norma Jean.

David

David is a veterinary assistant to Dr. Goldfarb. He helps clients and their pets get the most out of their visit with the veterinarian. He keeps records up to date, fills prescriptions, calls you after your visit to make sure all of you questions and concerns have been addressed and keeps the doctor on schedule as much as possible. He is also cross trained as a receptionist. David received his Associate of Science degree from Empire College in Business Systems. His areas of interest include Chinese herbs, Bach flower remedies, nutritional support, microstim and hydro therapy. When David is not in the clinic he enjoys hiking, biking, camping and reading. His family includes his wife, Jessica, his kids, Felix and Freya, their dog, Winky and their cat, Blackstar.

Nurses


Camille

Camille is a veterinary nurse but is cross-trained to answer phones and help clients get checked in and check out. She is also our OSHA coordinator. She received her Associate of Science and RVT (registered veterinary technician) at Foothill College. Camille has years of experience in the veterinary nursing profession. She's worked in general practice as well as specialty practice and her knowledge base is substantial. She's coached many junior nurses and she manages the nursing team. Her areas of interest include pediatrics, canine rehabiliation/physical therapy, emergency/critical care and post anesthesia recovery. Her favorite part of the job is working with our great clients and helping them keep their pets happy and healthy! Camille's family includes her husband, Patrick, their two boys Jacob (4 1/2 years) and Caleb (2 1/2 years) and Luna, a 16 1/2 year old Rott/Lab cross. Camille enjoys camping, hiking, swimming and playing with her boys!

Melanie

Melanie is a veterinary nurse but is cross-trained to answer phones and help clients get checked in and checked out. She's also a student at Santa Rosa Junior College where she is completing her prerequisites for nursing school. Melanie has worked at an emergency and specialty practice and has a background in critical care. She's also familiar with shelter medicine after having worked with the Humane Society. When she's not working or going to school she enjoys horseback riding, spending time with family and friends and playing with her dog, Felicity and her cat, Quinn.

Angie

Angie is a veterinary nurse and is also cross trained as a receptionist. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Santa Rosa Junior College, has worked in the veterinary profession for over 8 years working primarily in dentistry and is a member of the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians. Angie's interests include dentistry, oral surgery, pain management and client education. Ask Angie about your pet's teeth! She has recently moved back to Marin from New Orleans. Angie has an aussie named, Mae and a chihuahua named, Canteen. Her pastimes include hiking, running and cooking vegan dishes with friends and family.

Lizanne

Lizanne is a veterinary nurse and the newest member of our team. She has six years of veterinary nursing experience at both a general practice and a large 24 hour shelter/hospital in San Francisco. Having recently returned to the field after taking a hiatus to raise her little boy, Lizanne is really excited about meeting you and caring for your furry family members. Her dedication to continued professional education and her commitment to compassionate patient care are what drives her and continues to draw her to veterinary nursing. Currently she is working closely with Angie, focused on dentistry: she would like to remind you to please take a few minutes to brush your pets' teeth! Lizanne has attended City College of SF and the College of Marin. Her hobbies include traveling, scuba diving, hiking, and biking with her husband David and son Jackson. CLAW'd, an 8 year old Siamese mix is the family feline; currently she has no dog after 15 years with her much missed black lab Samira.

Rehabilitation and Pain Management

Please visit www.goldengaitcanine.com for information on our Rehabilitation and Pain Management facility. The services provided at that facility are Acupuncture, Physical Rehabilitation, Underwater Treadmill and Cold Laser Therapy.
